WARLEY BOROUGH v CELTIC ATHLETIC

2ND ROUND OF THE LEAGUE CUP.

The 2nd round of the league cup saw us away to Warley Borough a team that we have already played & beat, but a team that doesnt lie down & rollover. A minutes silence was held in honour of rememberance day which was respectfully respected by all.
From the whistle both sides competed for every ball neither team allowed the other any time on the ball & in a flash 15 minutes had past with neither team having a shot at goal that was until from a Kalium throw-in Warley only half cleared the ball, Omar then put it straight back into the middle were Charlie volleyed the ball but it was just wide. This effort seemed to inspire us & with the next attack we scored when a Jay received the ball out wide on the right cut inside & shot from outside the box.

Celtic looked to increase there advantage over Borough by putting them on the back foot this was rewarded when after 16 minutes Celtics got there 2nd goal a ball from Jay to Charlie down the centre of the pitch saw Charlie chase it down & from the edge of the box glide it past the keeper.

Celtic's 3rd soon followed when Charlie beat the defender & crossed the ball into the box were Jay headed it home, well made & well finished.

Just before the half time whistle Kalium is taken off injured Jake takes his place.
Half Time score Warley Borough 0 Celtic Athletic 3
Celtic seemed to take there foot of the gas in the 2nd half & become a little sloppy with there passing & there work rate dropped which allowed Borough time to get them selves back into the game. Every now & again Celtic would play the way we now they can in one such incident Jake put a great ball down the line for Mattie he then played a one two with Charlie but the cross is a little deep & is cleared, unlucky lads but a lot sharper. Borough hit us on the brake & when we failed to clear a ball that was level with the box , there winger put the ball across the box were there player put it away.

Sub Omar off Kalium on.Celtic answered all most straight away when from the middle of the Borough half Demarco headed on to Charlie who shoots for goal the keeper fails to hold on to his shot & Mattie tapped it in .Well done lads.

Sub Jordan off Lewis on Borough hit us again on the brake when from in there own half they put along ball down the middle for there forward to chase which he wins, leaving him one on one with Alex but he kept is nerve to slide the balli nto the back of the net,

The score remained the same to the final whistle.Another win that takes us into the draw for the next round of the lge cup well done lads.I think you made things hard for yourselves today lads.
